Camping with a caravan, what could be better? Year after year, many people take advantage of this opportunity to spend their holidays in it. A caravan has many advantages. Since, among other things, you always have your sleeping space with you, you are not dependent on a hotel and therefore more independent. Furthermore, all the important things for self-sufficiency are always there, which can save you a lot of money on vacation.

An important aspect, especially when camping with a caravan, is the use of gas. Because it has numerous uses there.

For most campers, of course, the gas stove comes first. This ensures, among other things, for the physical well-being on vacation, with which all kinds of delicious dishes can be prepared. There are the simple camping stoves, where a gas cartridge is simply screwed on, and there are the two-burner stoves that are connected to a larger gas bottle.

There are also refrigerators for caravans that run on gas. These are also known as absorption refrigerators. Such a refrigerator has the great advantage that you are completely independent of a power connection.

Not to be forgotten is the use of gas as a heat source. The heat for this is generated by a built-in heater in the caravan. These 3 areas of application show very well where gas can be used when camping.

How do I store a gas cylinder?

A very important question, because after all, this is about your own safety. It is important to know that there are precise regulations on how to secure a gas cylinder. A gas bottle must always be in a so-called bottle case or bottle cabinet, which is located at the lowest point of the caravan.

Furthermore, the bottle must stand securely and must not move while driving. The gas bottle must be turned off before driving. Securing the load is therefore very important, because after all, this is a dangerous good. If the gas bottle is not properly secured, you have to reckon with a fine of 300 euros.

Go on holiday with the caravan abroad

If you want to go abroad with your caravan, you should definitely take an adapter with you, which can be used to fill the bottles. Unfortunately there is no uniform system for this in Europe and therefore such an adapter is very appropriate, which can be bought in specialist shops for camping accessories.
